The sauropod design on the T Shirt was inspired by this fossil. Though the card above displays a brachiosaurus, the magnificent fossil in this image is Diplodocus carnegii, affectionately nicknamed “Dippy,” on display at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This iconic sauropod dinosaur was discovered in 1899 in Wyoming and named after Andrew Carnegie, whose support for paleontological exploration helped fund the expedition. Dippy measures over 80 feet long, with a remarkably long neck and tail that showcase the grandeur of Late Jurassic herbivores. The Carnegie specimen was so impressive that replicas were later gifted to museums around the world, making Dippy one of the most recognizable dinosaurs globally. Set against a rich, forested mural, this skeletal mount continues to inspire wonder and curiosity, standing as both a scientific treasure and a symbol of museum history.
